Exo’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Sandeep is a proven entrepreneur with a hands-on managerial background in leading interdisciplinary technology and business teams, and a track record of bringing to market complex hardware and software products. Exo is his fourth startup organization.
Prior to founding Exo, Sandeep was Founder and President of Jyve Inc. (acquired by a major semiconductor corporation at an exit valuation of more than $60M). Previously, he was CEO of IntelliSense, a leading provider of micro-mechanical integrated circuits (MEMS) and nanotechnology-based software and solutions. Under his guidance, IntelliSense expanded its physical presence into China and India and its sales presence into 30+ countries. Sandeep helped the company rapidly grow from a startup to its eventual acquisition at a valuation of $750 million. In 2003, he led the re-acquisition of IntelliSense from Corning.
Sandeep holds a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, an M.S. from LSU and an M.B.A. from INSEAD, France.
Janusz Bryzek, Ph.D.
Co-Founder and Board Chairman
Exo’s Co-Founder and Executive Board Chairman, Janusz is a pioneer in the fields of micro-mechanical integrated systems (MEMS) and sensors. He has co-founded 11 Silicon Valley MEMS companies with products including MEMS sensors (pressure, acceleration, gyro), MEMS microstructures (mirrors), sensor-based systems-on-chip (wireless pressure sensors, motion sensors with embedded sensor fusion) and systems (optical switches, medical ultrasound imagers). Janusz has performed due diligence for top-tier VC firms, including USVP (Irwin Federman), Mayfield, Benchmark, Morgenthaler, and Panorama. He also worked as an advisor or board member for 40+ startups.
Janusz has been the recipient of multiple awards, including “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Arthur Young in 1989, and Lifetime Achievement Awards in 1994 and 2003 by Sensors Magazine and MANCEF, respectively. In 2016, he was named Outstanding Polish Business Executive by the Polish Embassy in the United States and subsequently received the Industry Impact Award for Engineering Excellence from Sensors Expo in 2018.
He has published 250+ papers, wrote sections of four books, and has organized and chaired many international conferences. He is the author of 30 U.S. patents and multiple patent applications and has initiated several sensor standardization efforts.
Janusz earned his M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. from Warsaw Technical University, Poland. He also completed the Executive Management Program at Stanford University.
Yusuf Haque, Ph.D.
Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering
Yusuf is Exo’s Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer, and Senior Vice President of Engineering. He is a proven executive in the medical device and semiconductor industries with a track record of developing differentiated products and building companies that have achieved impressive growth and profitability. Yusuf has broad expertise in business management, sales, engineering, technology, and operations, and serves as an advisor to entrepreneurs. He is the co-holder of 35 U.S. patents and has served on the Technical Program Committees of IEEE for two decades.
Prior to Exo, he was CEO of SliceX/Crest Semiconductors, which developed digital x-ray imagers for dental applications. Previously, he was Managing Director and General Manager at Maxim, where he established a medical product line featuring an industry-leading digital x-ray imaging chipset that included a chip he personally designed. At Maxim, Yusuf also developed blood glucose analyzer chips that shipped in high volume, components for medical ultrasound imaging, and ultrasonic self-parking chips for automotive applications with embedded algorithms.
Yusuf has designed 30+ commercially soled integrated circuit products.
Yusuf has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carleton College and an M.B.A. from the Santa Clara University.
Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer
John brings three decades of financial leadership expertise in the medical device and semiconductor sectors to Exo as the company’s Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he was Founder and President of Constantine Partners, L.L.C., a firm that assisted high-tech companies with business planning and financial management.
Prior, John founded Spinebridge, a medical device company, and served as Chief Financial Officer for three semiconductor companies. From 2004 to 2006, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Budgets and Financial Policy. In the position, he served as Principal Staff Assistant and Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs for all of the Department’s financial policies, programs and activities for the U.S. Department of Defense Military Health System. He also served as the CFO of TRICARE, the Department’s insurance plan with 9.1 million beneficiaries.
John earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and an M.B.A. from Boston University.
